A practical guide for planning commercial print and branded materials.

Choose the application first

Large-format printing covers banners, wall graphics, window treatments, floor decals and display panels. Start with the placement, audience and expected lifespan. Indoor and outdoor applications require different conversations about exposure and durability. The substrate, adhesive and finishing should follow the application rather than a design mockup alone.

Prepare artwork at the right scale

Confirm dimensions, bleed, safe areas and file requirements with the producer. Image resolution should be evaluated at final size and intended viewing distance. Keep key information away from seams, hardware and edges. For several panels, review alignment and panel order together. A scaled layout proof helps the team see the complete installation.

Scope the full rollout

Include site measurement, surface preparation, installation access and removal in the brief. Confirm who supplies hardware and who accepts deliveries. For multiple locations, create a placement schedule and label assets clearly. Review a sample when color or finish is critical, and photograph the completed installation to document the approved result for future reorders.
